I have a confession; cling to relations beyond its expiration date. My worst abuse was the man who was in a relationship with over 10 years. Cringe every time you say it. I knew that adult date relationship did not work after three years and I remember the moment who has promised to break the. He was on holiday with friends. When I returned, I broke. But then we got together back again for another three years. Again broke and they stayed together for four years. Took me to sell my house and move for me to end my relationship with this guy.
It sounds crazy, but love is blind. Well, not completely blind…there are a number of reasons why hang on:
- It is easier to stay with the local guys who venture out into the world of dating
- I am super busy with my career and not have time to date
- I’m in love with the idea of this guy
- Do-it is a good guy, what if there is no one better than him?
- Me I have outside provided in my head how our lives would be together and it’s amazing
- That still wants to be with me
- It is comfortable
I could get a couple more excuses to hang on, but no matter what. What matters is that I recognize the pattern and not repeat the pattern.
But it is not easy to break pattern. You fall for a guy to sleep with him, enjoying one of his habits of dumb, but as time passes, they know in their heart and soul, it is not good for it. I know that when to talk to my friends about him and excuses for his behavior. Does not seem correct.
A thread that ran through all these relationships in danger and told me it was OK. It was not well and was not sufficient. I felt that he could not speak my mind, as I had lost my voice. I couldn’t say that he was not well. It was my worst.
Unless you drop it is jammed. It is not worth it.
